We are writing because your credit card was turned down (declined) by your financial institution when we tried to apply the charges for your order (#********) at Stormer Hobbies.
We cannot determine the exact reason why this happened. In order to guard your privacy, credit card companies will not provide us with the reason they did not accept your card. In this letter, we will show you how to resolve this problem so your purchase at Stormer Hobbies can be completed.
The most common reason that cards are not accepted is that the billing information which you provide to us does not match the address information your credit card company has on record for you.
When a credit card is used, the bank or financial institution that issued the card to you carefully checks the information you entered on your Stormer Hobbies order (name, address, ZIP code, and so on) against the information you provided to the bank as the "official address" for your card. If these two collections of information do not match, the issuing bank will immediately decline the card. In order to ensure that the address you supply to us matches the address you placed on file with the issuing financial institution, it is best to copy your address information from a recent credit card statement.
Perhaps you will find that the address you are using is exactly the same as the one your credit card issuer has on file. In that case, you may need to consider that it is possible that one or more of several other factors may have contributed to your card not being accepted when submitted. In order to determine if this is the problem, please contact your card issuer, and confirm the following:
- The expiration date you gave us (**/20**) is correct.
- The security code you provided from the back of the card is correct.
- The card account is in good standing.
- Adequate credit is available on the account to accept the order amount.
- The account doesn't have an internet or phone order block.
- The account has been activated (if it is a new account.)
- The ZIP or POSTAL CODE you gave us is correct.
One more thing; please remember that a debit card is not a credit card -- even if it has a credit card logo on it. Debit cards may be subject to daily, weekly or monthly transaction limits. If you are having problems with a debit card, we recommend that you contact the issuing bank to determine if there are transaction limits or any other restrictions imposed by your bank that may be causing your card to decline.
