Meillä on Mäntsälän Kapinat perinteisesti toiminut uusien asioiden kokeilukenttänä. Jenkkilässä puolestaan sen roolin näyttää ottaneen Las Vegasin IIC, missä ajetaan syyskuussa ensimmäinen "All LIPO race". Myös 1/12 ja 1/10 mattoautot ajavat lipoilla.
Kysymys kuuluu, kuinka pitkään perässä ja millä viiveellä kulkee Eurooppa ja muut?

"Throughout the years of the past IIC, we have watched our industry go through some changes in the equipment we use and the IIC has always lead the way in trying to do what we think is right for the racer as well as our industry. First it was Brushless Motors that came to our racing world and when not everyone was embracing them, we did and had the first major brushless event. Then we saw the onslaught of Lipo Batteries and the racing world looked at the IIC to see what we were going to do with Tech procedures, Safety requirements and allowances to allow racers to use this new technology. Then we were the first event to do a Handout Brushless motors and a huge success that was. Now another huge change is on the horizon of the racing world and after months of testing and input from many of the manufactures involved,
We have made the decision that for all the 1/12th classes and both WGT classes we will only allow the 1 cell Lipo batteries making this years IIC the first all LIPO Event ever. There is no argument that Lipo Batteries are here to stay and a majority of the racers in the on road world have made the switch to these batteries and it is only a matter of time before the 1 Cell Lipo becomes the norm for pan classes. So we think this is the perfect time to bring this great advancement in batteries for pan cars to the IIC."
