Rc 40cc Evolution engine from Scott Finlay
Rc 40cc Evolution engine from Scott Finlay. The prototype RC40 Evolution engines from Scott Finlay Performance made it to Bashfest 3 for their first outing.
Technical specification:
39.90cc
bore: 36.00mm
stroke:39.20mm
case reed induction
aircooled cylinder with 6 transfer ports & boosted exhaust
The ignition & flywheel are the same as your regular cy/zen set-up & the cooling fan blows over the cylinder & through the head in a similar manner.
The concept of the engine is to bridge the gap between the 30.5cc engines & the 50cc + engines.
It's running on a small carb (wt257) & a small exhaust , with a header to suit the cylinder. This way the power delivery is very smooth & the exhaust note is not too loud.
It should be in production very soon.
£995 inc vat is on the cards at the moment, exhaust isn't included but it will be supplied with a header pipe to fit the BZM micro exhausts.
As for power lets just say that it's way faster than any of the smaller engines but is still every day drive able - this engine was not designed to be the most powerful but to bridge the gap between the small engines and the mega power 50+ engines.
Baja test gearing was 24:50 and it could still pull wheelies, and was faster than all the small engined bajas there.
