The best 28 engines out there would have to be the SH 28 Pro/LRP 28 Spec 2/XTM 457, and the Nova/REX/Tops 528 XSP or XRP. The SH line of engines are stupidly fast, reiable and the best part it they are really cheap. I got a new SH 28 Prospec off ebay for $119 US. The Novarossi line is a step up from the SH in quality. The Nova's will last more than twice as long as the SH line, and they Nova;s make pretty much the same power as the SH motors. The Novarossi 528XRP modded probably makes a little more power than any of the SH motors. All these motors are good choices. I would even consider the Mach 28 to be one of the best 28 out. It may be a 3 port but it still is SH engines quailty and makes good reialbe power. I have tried the STS 28 and I dont know what all the hipe is about. Everyone is saying how fast the STS is and when I raced it against my LRP 28 the LRP ate it for breakfast. I would stick to either the SH motors or if you got the money, the Novarossi engines
